The HC-SR501 is the most popular PIR motion sensor for Arduino and IoT projects. It detects infrared heat from moving people or animals and outputs a simple HIGH signal — ideal for automatic lights, burglar alarms and occupancy-triggered automation. Sensitivity and output delay are adjustable via two onboard potentiometers.
